Ian has a long association working with the community and was a member of the original Tynan-Eyre Committee formed in 1988 to remember the murder of two young Victoria Police officers. The Tynan-Eyre Committee has since become part of the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation and through this association Ian is the MC for the monthly XLI Club luncheons in Melbourne.
Australia Day Ambassador
An Australia Day Ambassador since 2011, Ian has represented the Australia Day National Council and Australia Day Victoria at official Australia Day ceremonies throughout regional Victoria, presenting an Australia Day address and working with local communities on their Australia Day activities.
Mullagh Wills Foundation
Ian is a founding committee member and secretary of the Mullagh Wills Foundation, formed in 2015 to commemorate the first Aboriginal Cricket Team which played against the MCC on Boxing Day 1866 and then became the first Australian cricket team to play in England in 1868.
Ian continues to work with a number of community organisations to assist their communications and as an MC at key functions.
